SOLRESOR: awful, awful, awful
An awful service.
Me and my girlfriend booked a trip to Gran Canaria with Solresor. At the apartment we rented (El Sol Apartments) we wanted to cook dinner..but after we opened the kitchen drawer and found what looked like mouse shit, we completely lost our appetite.
Sadly that's not all. After have had a closer look in the apartment we discovered more feces in the closet and on the bed sheets...and we saw a little mouse sneaking its way out of the apartment. Yes, a mouse.
The morning after I immediately went to the reception to talk about it and the person there offered us a scooter for 3 days + a new room as a compensation.
We've been moved to another room that same day. This time there was no mice feces: there were cockroaches. A lot of them. What a great upgrade.
The morning after, as usual, we wanted to have a shower. There was no warm water. Now, I understand the Canaries are a warm place, but if I pay for a room the least I expect is warm water. No mouse shit, no cockroaches: simply warm water. We called the reception and they told us someone was coming immediately to fix it for us. Apparently their concept of "immediately" equals "one and a half hour until the customer had to go himself to the reception and ask how long more that would take".
Warm water got fixed during the day and we are finally able to have a shower. But unfortunately this is not the end of our adventure: on our last day the toilette's pipes got stuck, resulting in shit coming out of the floor after flushing. It was disgusting.
Furthermore, I send an email to Solresor’s Customer Service to ask for a compensation, in English (I understand they are based in Sweden, but since I do not speak Swedish the only alternative to my native Italian is English) and I receive a reply in Swedish. Not being able to understand, I asked them to write in English. Their reply is amazing: they literally told me (...in English this time) they only reply in Swedish, therefore I "need to get help for the translation". This is almost worse than the mouse shit I found in the apartment they gave me.
Now, I have studied Tourism Management, I come from a touristic place and I've been in this industry my whole life: never I have never experienced something like this.
And no one out there should experience the same.
