To have an Umbrella
I like the Dutch snacks, the classic cookies Stroopwafels. I REALLY HAD TO TRY them, I ought to, according to a friend at uni when I was going to visit the really nice old city Gouda. That was the most important thing, she said. I could forget to taste the cheese, which Gouda is famous for, to touristic, she said. I could ignore all the museeums but I had to try the stroopwafels! (And this woman is borned in this city Gouda and she loves cheese, she told me). Ok, I tried it and it is ok but for me one or two is enough. This weekend my parents visited me here in Rotterdam. They brought me a box of really good swedish chocolate (en Paradis-ask), I got the classic swedish caviar called "Kalles kaviar" and I got hard bread, thank you my dear sister! I also got a rain coat, which is really handy to have here. It rains here you know! But until now, that is two months, I haven't had any rain coat and more surprisingly I haven't had any umbrella. I lived in Dublin for three months - I did not buy any umbrella and there it felt like it was raining every single day. I lived in Manchester, UK for a year - I did not buy any umbrella. Ok, it didn't rain as much as in Dublin but it rained, a lot! Home in Karlstad, Sweden I did owned an umbrella, it was an old, not really straight one that had a couple of holes in it. But that didn´t do anything because I almost never used it. It was just lying there of the back of my car. So obviously, I don't like umbrellas. But this Saturday I actually bought one on the market at Blaak. 5 and I couldn't recistbuying it. What is left to see is if I will use it...
