General Condition
In April to mid – May, heat low pressure cell will dominate upper Thailand
in some period and cause hot weather with very hot in some areas mainly in
northern and northeastern parts. Maximum temperature will be 40 – 42 ° C.
However, thundershowers and thunderstorms usually experience in upper
Thailand, resulting decreasing in temperature. Then, start of rainy season will
coincide with the onset of the southwest monsoon over Thailand. Substantial
rainfall will be expected until the second half of June that rainfall decrease is
likely.
Generally speaking, rainfall in Thailand will be above normal especially in
April and May, and the average temperature will be slightly below normal.
For southern Thailand, scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy
rainfalls will occur especially in the west coast. Slightly above normal is expected
throughout the period.
Warning :
April - The possibility of the occurrences of thunderstorms with gust and hail
are high. So people should beware of natural disaster and should follow the
weather forecast for further information.
The end of April to May - The low pressure cell in the Andaman Sea that
sometimes strengthen to be tropical cyclone may have some effects on
Thailand’s rainfall especially in northern, central and southern Thailand.
June – The tropical cyclone generating in the Western North Pacific Ocean or
South China Sea may induce the strength of southwest monsoon and cause
increasing in rainfall especially in eastern and southern Thailand.
