Emirates to serve Orlando

Ongoing open-skies conflicts with the “Big Three” US carriers have not deterred Emirates from expanding its US presence (see here), as it gears up for a new service to Orlando.
In a statement, the airline confirmed it would commence a daily flight from its base in Dubai to the US city from September 1. The route will be served by the B777-200LR and offer eight suites in first, 42 seats in business and 216 in economy.
Flight EK219 will depart Dubai International Airport at 0350 and arrive at Orlando International Airport at 1140. The return service will see flight EK220 take off from Orlando at 1420, to arrive back in Dubai at 1230 the following day.
“Orlando is one of the world’s premier leisure and conference destinations, a dynamic business centre and a destination which Emirates has long wished to serve”, said Tim Clark, president, Emirates.
“As a growing region, we believe that our service will facilitate further growth for both Orlando as well as central Florida by connecting the city with our global network of 145 destinations across 80 countries.”
Emirates customers will also benefit from the carrier’s strong codeshare partnership with JetBlue, which has a regional hub in Orlando and operates connecting flights to 24 cities including San Juan in Puerto Rico; Bogota, Colombia and Nassau, The Bahamas.

EK är ju kända för sina låga priser dessutom, och det utan att tumma på kvalitén.

DXB o Marie har förvisso sina fördelar, men restiden och priset känns inte direkt lockande just nu... får väl vänta på en bra kampanj eller att du Bibby snackar med dom så att dom ändå kan göra ett kort stopp i CPH. Hade jag varit en Schejk så hade jag säkert kunnat dirigera om flighten.
